Steve Tharp, OYR Treasurer
Steven Tharp, Ohio Young Republican Treasurer and Vice President of the Stark County Young Republicans, is very excited to serve on the Ohio Young Republican Executive Board. The youth of Ohio matter and it is our job as Young Republicans to ignite the fire of freedom, liberty and love of our constitutional principles in the youth of today.
Steven graduated from Heidelberg University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts. As a leader on campus, he served as Treasurer for the Heidelberg College Young Republicans, President of his fraternity and served as the first Student Chair of the Student-Faculty Diversity Committee. In 2009, Steven attended Ashland University for post-bachelor work in Education and in 2010; Steven graduated from the Stark County Government leadership Academy.
Currently, Steven is serving as a Councilman for Brewster, Ohio and is currently running for re-election in November of 2013. He currently serves as Chairman of the Economic Development, Insurance and Utility Committees for Brewster and is the liaison to the Stark County Planning Commission.
Steven volunteered on numerous campaigns including Alan Harold for Stark County Auditor, Janet Creighton for Stark County Commissioner, Alex Zumbar for Stark County Treasurer, Todd Snitchler (now PUCO Chairman) for 50th House District and the Mitt Romney for President Campaign.
Professionally, Steven works as the Operations and Maintenance Administrative Coordinator in Richfield, Ohio. Steven hopes to encourage youth of Ohio to become engaged citizens and build a stronger, better and more engaging Republican Party. Come and Join Us!
