Northeast Regional Vice-Chair Doug Deeken

Brian “Doug” Deeken was born in Olney, MD and attended Youngstown State University (B.E. in 1997), and the University of Akron. He has worked in environmental testing & compliance as well as in aerospace. He was most recently a Lead Materials & Process Engineer for Goodrich Landing Gear. At Goodrich he worked in heat treating, plating and painting process support roles. He also did substantial technical support for the procurement of parts. Ever since the birth of his son in 2006 he has transitioned to a role of stay-at-home-dad and consultant. Included in his consulting projects are teaching Basic Metallurgy for the benefit of the Akron-ASM Chapter. He and his family make their home just outside of Doylestown, OH.
Doug got involved in Politics during the 2000 GOP Primary as an Alan Keyes supporter. Since then he has supported several good conservative campaigns and even run a few times himself. Nowadays he mostly helps out as Chairman of the Wayne County Yougn Republicans.
